Japanese House

The Japanese House
floored with
Japanese "tatami"
mats was opened in
1971. It is built in
the style known as "Sukiyazukuri"
and emphasizes the
purity, simplicity
and harmony with
nature which are
characteristic of
traditional Japanese
architecture. The
two rooms
-"Bosei-tei" (large
room) and "Wakei-an"
(small room)- have
been modeled after
the original designs
of two famous tea
ceremony rooms ("Zangetsu-tei"
and "Fushin-an")
constructed in
Kyoto, Japan, in the
16th century.
