Workshop on Embedded Technology at Tokai University European Center

    From January 31^st to February 3^rd, 2010, Professor Shigeyuki Ohara, Dean of Tokai University’s Professional Graduate School of Embedded Technology, visited Denmark. The purpose of the visit was to establish contact with central actors in the field of embedded technology in Denmark and to exchange information about developments, circumstances and initiatives within this field.

   Tokai University European Center in Copenhagen was in charge of coordinating and arranging the meetings and activities in connection with Professor Ohara’s visit, and served as venue for a workshop on embedded technology conducted on Feb. 1^st. The workshop assembled professors from Aalborg University, The Technical University of Denmark and from Copenhagen Business School, as well as participation from the ITEK-division of Danish Industry (DI-ITEK is the Danish ICT and electronics federation for it, telecommunications, electronics and communication enterprises).

   The workshop consisted of three presentations, the first of which was held by Professor Ohara on the ETSS-system for skill evaluation and development of engineers working with embedded technology. The second presentation was held by Professor Anders Ravn from Aalborg University on the activities of the Center for Embedded Software Systems (CISS). The third presentation was held by Associate Professor Michael Hansen from the Technical University of Denmark on the activities of the university’s embedded systems section (ESE). Since embedded technology is becoming an increasingly high-priority field in both Denmark and Japan, the workshop resulted in a mutually beneficial exchange of experiences, ideas and questions, and established a line of communication between Denmark and Japan within this field.

東海大学ヨーロッパ学術センター　組込み技術ワークショップ

 東海大学ヨーロッパ学術センターの主催により、東海大学専門職大学院組込み技術研究科長の大原茂之教授が２０１０年１月３１日から２月３日までデンマークを訪問しました。主な目的は、組込み技術分野におけるキーパーソンと両国における組込み技術の現状や今後の展開、そのイニシアチブ等について情報交換を行い、まずは交流の基礎を築くことに置かれました。

２月１日には、組込み技術についてのワークショップを東海大学ヨーロッパ学術センターで開催し、オルボー大学（Aalborg University）の組込み技術研究所とデンマーク工業大学（Technical University of Denmark）とコペンハーゲン商業大学（Copenhagen Business School）から教授が、更にデンマーク企業連合（情報技術、電気通信、電子工業部）の代表も参加しました。

ワークショップでは３件の発表がなされ、最初は大原教授から『ETSS‐組込み技術のスキル管理制度』について発表をいただきました。次にオルボー大学のアラン・ラウン（Allan Ravn）教授による『組み込み技術研究所（CISS）の構成・活動』について、そして最後にミカエル・ハンセン（Michael Hansen）准教授による『デンマーク工業大学の組込み技術セクション（ESE）の活動』というテーマで発表をいただきました。両国においては、組込み技術の分野がますます重要視される方向に向かっているという現状意識を共有しており、ワークショップでは参加者から活発な意見が出され、双方共に有意義な情報交換が行われました。

また大原教授滞在期間中に、ワークショップの他にも個別に情報交換の場を設ける等、組込み技術における日本とデンマークの架け橋の基礎を構築することが出来ました。
